Last time I wrote this silly little newsletter I was neck-deep in the chaotic search for a new home. As I said before, the market was not kind to us. A month and a half later I am sitting in our new place, staring out at a beautiful view of a vast, blue body of water to say that we made it—but the process shaved years off my life.
All that to say, I hope to resume a regular cadence with Three Dots as I get settled. My small, but loyal subscribers, I did not forget about you—you’ve been on my mind. Shout out to my uncle who has reminded me once or twice that he’s been checking his inbox daily to no avail.
While moving is a special kind of hell, if you're lucky enough to have a roof over your head—an apartment in a big city, a cabin in the woods or on the lake, a townhouse, a sprawling mansion, a suburban home on a tree-lined street—rented or owned, I don’t care—it’s one of life’s greatest pleasures, in my opinion, to have a blank canvas to arrange and decorate it in a way that feels like home.
That said, the content over the next few months will most likely will detail my journey of home improvement: what I think I need, what I know I need, what I want to do, and what I wish I could do (because you can only do so much with an 1,100 sq foot condo).

Below is a running list from my notes app of items I think I need:
At my last place, I used to go on walks and gawk in envy at the apartments with the big, orb-like hanging lanterns visible through the window. I think I finally figured out how I can make it work. This is the one I hope to get for the living area. I also learned there are such a thing as rechargeable light bulbs that change color!
Maybe you can tell via the photo I shared above, but the apartment gets amazing morning light in the living area. A nice big earthy-toned rug speaks to me. Like olive green or potentially terracotta.
I’ve been stalking FB marketplace for the console. We also have amazing vintage furniture stores that I think could maybe have some options. In other words, I’m OK taking my time with this.
A mini-basketball hoop for the days you need a win! The MOMA store used to have one that was pretty cool but I guess they discontinued so will have to find another option.
Trying to take things one room at a time! Next time I’ll do a breakdown of what I am thinking for the dining area. I did find a chic dining table on FB marketplace that makes it easy to build from. We will also need a rug for this area but see…I am already getting overwhelmed. One room at a time!
I haven’t been doing much else besides moving and working and thinking about what to do with this place except there are a few things:
Love Island is too good. My addiction is unhealthy. I love Amaya Papaya. I don’t buy the Nicolandria hype. I don’t see it!
I’m reading Braiding Sweetgrass. The author explores the relationship between humans and nature through the lens of Western science and Native American teachings. The world feels volatile and reading this has been grounding. Oh, and I finished My Brilliant Friend recently and loved it. A peculiar novel that examines the intricacies of girlhood and friendship. It’s a trilogy I think and I want to read the other two books. I am hoping to read the Overstory next.
I need more hobbies and just bought a pattern to teach myself how to crotchet. Going to try to make a laptop sleeve! Very slay I hope

That’s all I have today. Thank you for reading. If you know someone who would like reading this newsletter, please share this! I’d love it.
